Spring Luncheon was a wonderful event held at St. Joseph's Halle in Fredericksburg, Texas on April 20th, 2011. We appreciate support from our sponsor for the event, Broadway Bank. Andy's Diner, in Fredericksburg, served a yummy
down-home country fried steak meal with all of the trimmings. At the luncheon, Roy Thompson, President of The Community Foundation Board of Directors, spoke of the newest policy now in place at the Foundation: The Investment Advisor Strategy. This financial tool gives donors the option to maintain their charitable portfolio with an investment manager of their choice when the value of the endowment fund they want to create is valued at $250,000 or more.
Next, Greg Dunn of Broadway Bank-San Antonio, offered a presentation about "Investing in a Low Interest Rate Environment". Mr. Dunn's talk was of great import in the uncertain economic ebbs and flows of today's markets. Following Mr. Dunn was Sharon Wahrmund, who educated attenders about the Golden Hub Senior Center in Fredericksburg. Finally, Wes Dorman of Broadway Bank-Kerrville, thanked all guests for taking time to attend the event. Many thanks to Broadway Bank, Monsignor Enda McKenna for sharing the invocation, Sharon Wahrmund, Dodd's Nursery in Fredericksburg who provided the table centerpieces, and Don Wise with Andy's Diner.
It was a fantastic lunch for networking and learning about what our surrounding community has to offer. We hope you will join us next year as we usher in spring at The Community Foundation Spring Luncheon!
