Our Team

Austin Dickson, Executive Director

Since 2017, Austin has led the Community Foundation as its Executive Director. A Waco, Texas, native and TCU graduate, Austin earned a master’s degree in religion from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and Emory University. He also holds a master’s in public policy from Georgia Tech. For 13 years he was a noted civic leader in Atlanta, Georgia, where he worked for the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta before becoming director of an adult literacy nonprofit, one of the largest in the U.S. Austin has also been a college professor for over a decade; he currently teaches graduate students at the Candler School of Theology at Emory. Austin is owned by two bird dogs, Brittanys named Oliver and Cooper, and he enjoys hiking, fishing, and driving Hill Country backroads looking for the best barbecue and tacos.

Amy Rector, Business Manager

A native of Lubbock, Texas, Amy was raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in hospitality management, and she worked in the hotel industry for many years in California, Arizona, and New Mexico. Since 2004, Amy has served as the Community Foundation’s business manager. She and her husband, Riley, have two daughters, two dogs, and too many chickens. They are heavily involved with 4-H, camping and outdoor fun, and raising award-winning goats for shows throughout Central and South Texas – no kidding!

Jayne Zirkel, Marketing/Events Manager

Jayne has led the Community Foundation’s marketing and communications efforts since 2011. A Kerrville native and Tivy High School graduate, Jayne attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She lived in Waco for many years after college working as a youth minister at Central United Methodist Church. Jayne and her husband, Dave, have three children and two Labrador Retrievers. If the Zirkels aren’t at a Friday night football game, then they might be at a weekend soccer tournament, or they could be at a basketball practice, or they’re en route from one event to another. Regardless, there’s always Gatorade in the car.

Ingrid Cunyus, Grants & Scholarships Manager

Though born in San Saba, Ingrid graduated high school and college in Lubbock, Texas. She earned her BBA in finance from Texas Tech. Ingrid has worked in finance and administration for corporate and nonprofit organizations throughout her career. She has managed competitive grant programs and scholarships for the Community Foundation since 2017. Ingrid and her husband, Stuart, have one son, three dogs, a cat, and an opossum(!). An avid reader, Ingrid likes to break away from her book for a good hike in the Hill Country. She is also active in the animal rescue community, hence the opossum that sticks around.

Barbara McCormick, Office Assistant

Though Barbara was born and raised in the Kansas City area, she got to Texas as soon as she could! She and her husband, Roger, are a military family, so they’ve lived on five continents and quite literally seen the world. They have two grown daughters and a miniature poodle, DeeDee. Barbara has worked for several nonprofits in Kerrville and currently serves as an administrative assistant at the Community Foundation and is on the Laity Lodge Hospitality Team for the H.E.B. Foundation in Leakey, Texas. Barbara and her husband travel extensively, but she makes time to look after grandkids, do crafting, and paint. She treasures her regular, long walks along the Guadalupe River.

Kaye Davenport, Administrative Assistant
Originally from the Rio Grande Valley, Kaye moved to Kerrville at an early age and attended Tivy High School. She later attended the University of Houston and spent several decades working in Houston's oil and gas industry.  Kaye volunteers at Schreiner University and other local Kerrville nonprofits. She loves to travel and has traveled throughout the U.S., and to England, Canada and Mexico. Kaye enjoys getting together with friends, reading, yoga, dancing, and especially playing with her cat, Sunny.
