This scholarship was established to honor the legacy of Avie Teltschik, a popular award winning band director at Tivy High School for 24 years. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide educational funds to graduating Tivy High School band students.

Eligibility
Applicant must be graduating from Tivy High School with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicant must have been active in the Tivy High School band and should have demonstrated leadership in band, e.g., active in solo and ensemble contest and district band.
Selection Criteria
Selection of recipient is based on excellence in band participation, financial need, and academic achievement. Recipient must be accepted as a full time student in an accredited college, university or trade school before award decisions can be finalized. The scholarship award is null and void if not accepted within one year of the award date.
