The Window of Opportunity Scholarship was established to award current or prior Gillespie County high school graduates who have either participated in Fredericksburg Academic Boosters Mentoring Program or who are ranked in the bottom 50% of their class.

Eligibility
Applicant must be a current graduating student or prior graduate of a high school in Gillespie County and be a United States citizen. Applicant must have met ONE of the two following requirements: be ranked in the bottom 50% of the student's graduating class and/or be a participant in Fredericksburg Academic Boosters Mentoring Program for 2 years prior to graduating. A recipient of the scholarship may reapply for 3 consecutive years, given they have maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA. The recipient will be considered equally along with other applicants.
Selection Criteria
Selection of recipient is based on participation in FAB or GPA in bottom 50% of class, as well as financial need. Recipient must be accepted full-time in an accredited college, university or trade school prior to award decision. The scholarship award is null and void if not accepted within one year of award date.
